As we know Quest Toad for Oracle 9 has the "Save Passwords" option enabled which saves the database name, schema/password for all connections we make through TOAD. Do you know where are these connections saved? Toad connections are available in "C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\9.7\User Files\CONNECTIONPWDS.INI" In case you want to save/export these connections say during formatting your system, take a back-up of this file before you format and copy it in the same folder after format and Toad installation. But still it is not guaranteed that these saved connections will be restored. Toad 9.0 release notes says "Passwords are now stored in an encrypted file, CONNECTIONPWDS.INI. Note: this file is tied to the volume on which it resides. It cannot be used on any other volume or any other machine. If an attempt is made Toad will raise an error."
